The Vermillion Tanagers softball squad (Vermillion, SD), was edged 5-4 in Friday's league contest with the host Dakota Valley Panthers (North Sioux City, SD)
With the triumph, Dakota Valley improves its record to 14-6 on the year. The Panthers travel to Castlewood (Castlewood, SD) to face the Warriors in a non-league contest on Saturday, May 24. The Warriors enter the contest with a record of 15-4. Castlewood won 16-4 in their recent non-league contest against Milbank (Milbank, SD)
The Tanagers now hold a 6-10 record. They play next when they travel to Beresford for a Class A contest on Tuesday, May 27. Vermillion will face a Watchdogs squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Sioux Valley (Volga, SD). The Watchdogs record now stands at 14-11.
