Henry-Senachwine Mallards (Henry, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Woodland Warriors (Streator, IL), 3-2 in a league challenge.
The Mallards now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Midland for a Tri-County challenge on Tuesday, May 25.
With the loss, Woodland falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Warriors host Eureka (Eureka, IL) to battle the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 25. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Eureka won 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Lexington (Lexington, IL)
