Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Walter Panas Panthers (Cortlandt Manor, NY), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they host Ossining for a Section 1 I - D challenge on Wednesday, May 26. Lakeland will face a Pride squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Hendrick Hudson (Montrose, NY). The Pride record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Walter Panas falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Hendrick Hudson (Montrose, NY) to face the Sailors in a Section 1 II - A challenge on Wednesday, May 26.
