The crowd at Friday's league match between the West Lyon Wildcats (Inwood, IA) and the visiting Central Lyon Lions (Rock Rapids, IA), saw West Lyon's softball squad nip Central Lyon by a count of 4-3.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newell-Fonda for a non-league match on Saturday, May 25. West Lyon will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Spirit Lake (Spirit Lake, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Central Lyon falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Sibley-Ocheyedan (Sibley, IA) to face the Generals in a Siouxland match on Tuesday, May 28. The Generals enter the match with a record of 0-2. Sibley-Ocheyedan lost 14-2 in their recent non-league match against Trinity Christian (Hull, IA)
