St. Bernard Saints (Uncasville, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Montville Wolves (Oakdale, CT), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Saints now own a 12-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Holy Cross for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 28. St. Bernard will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT). The Crusaders record now stands at 15-7.

With the loss, Montville falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to Bacon Academy (Colchester, CT) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 28. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 15-5. Bacon Academy won 11-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Griswold (Griswold, CT)
