Waltonville Spartans (Waltonville, IL) backers left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL), 5-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Waltonville upgrades its record to 26-8 on the year. The Spartans host Century (Ullin, IL) to play the Centurions in a non-league game on Wednesday, May 28. The Centurions enter the game with a record of 14-8. Century won 10-0 in their recent non-league game against Egyptian (Tamms, IL)

The Pioneers now own a 13-14 record.
