Standish-Sterling Panthers (Standish, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bay City Western Warriors (Auburn, MI), 9-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 25-6 record. They take the field next when they host Reese for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 27. Standish-Sterling will face a Rockets squad coming off a 15-4 non-league win over Valley Lutheran (Saginaw, MI). The Rockets record now stands at 10-20.

With the loss, Bay City Western falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Warriors host Garber (Essexville, MI) to face the Dukes in a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 1. The Dukes enter the challenge with a record of 34-4. Garber won 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Unionville-Sebewaing (Sebewaing, MI)
