Newman Catholic Knights (Mason City, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting AGWSR Cougars (Ackley, IA), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now own a 6-0 record. They take the field next when they host Rockford for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 29. Newman Catholic will face a Warriors squad coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Northwood-Kensett (Northwood, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, AGWSR falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Cougars host St. Ansgar (St. Ansgar, IA) to face the Saints in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 25. The Saints enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. St. Ansgar won 9-4 in their recent league challenge against Osage (Osage, IA)
