Marathon Red Raiders (Marathon, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Auburndale Apaches (Auburndale, WI), 7-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Raiders now own a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Westfield Area for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 31. Marathon will battle a Pioneers squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Pardeeville (Pardeeville, WI). The Pioneers record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Auburndale falls to 0-6 on the campaign.
