The Bedford Buccaneers routed the visiting Newton South Lions softball squad by a count of 13-4 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Buccaneers (14-3) will now prepare for their battle against Westford Academy (Westford, MA). The Grey Ghosts go into the non-league battle with a 13-2 record. In their last battle, Westford Academy topped Lincoln-Sudbury (Sudbury, MA), 5-0, in a league battle.

The Lions now sport a 9-10 record. They play next when they host Lincoln-Sudbury for a Dual County Large battle on Friday, May 27. Newton South will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to Westford Academy (Westford, MA). The Warriors record now stands at 7-11.
