Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kellam Knights (Virginia Beach, VA), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Grizzlies now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cosby for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 31. Grassfield will face a Titans squad coming off a 10-1 non-league win over James River (Buchanan, VA). The Titans record now stands at 14-6.

With the loss, Kellam falls to 8-6 on the campaign.
