Kennewick Lions (Kennewick, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Stanwood Spartans (Stanwood, WA), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 17-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roosevelt for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 26. Kennewick will battle a Roughriders squad coming off a 14-4 league win over Garfield (Seattle, WA). The Roughriders record now stands at 18-5.

With the loss, Stanwood falls to 10-14 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Bonney Lake (Bonney Lake, WA) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 26. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 20-5. Bonney Lake lost 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Peninsula (Gig Harbor, WA)
