Gardiner Tigers (Gardiner, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Morse Shipbuilders (Bath, ME), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cony for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 1. Gardiner will face a Rams squad coming off a 10-5 league win over Winslow (Winslow, ME). The Rams record now stands at 4-6.

With the loss, Morse falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Shipbuilders travel to Lincoln Academy (Newcastle, ME) to face the Eagles in a Class B South challenge on Tuesday, May 31. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. Lincoln Academy won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Erskine Academy (South China, ME)
