Sumner Tigers (East Sullivan, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Machias Bulldogs (Machias, ME), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Narraguagus for a Class C North challenge on Tuesday, May 31. Sumner will face a Knights squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Jonesport-Beals (Jonesport, ME). The Knights record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Machias falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Shead (Eastport, ME) to face the Tigers in a Class D North challenge on Saturday, May 28. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Shead lost 9-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Narraguagus (Harrington, ME)
