Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions (Kingsville, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jourdanton Indians/Squaws (Jourdanton, TX), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 26-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Grandview for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 31. Santa Gertrudis Academy will battle a Zebras squad coming off a 10-8 non-league win over Franklin (Franklin, TX). The Zebras record now stands at 39-3.

With the loss, Jourdanton falls to 31-9 on the campaign.
