Maranacook/Winthrop Black Bears (Readfield, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Telstar Rebels (Bethel, ME), 14-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Black Bears now own a 1-2 record.

With the loss, Telstar falls to 2-13 on the campaign. The Rebels host Hall-Dale (Farmingdale, ME) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 29. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Hall-Dale won 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Monmouth Academy (Monmouth, ME)
