Holmen Vikings (Holmen, WI) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Sparta Spartans (Sparta, WI), 2-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Vikings confront the La Crosse Central Riverhawks (La Crosse, WI) in a Mississippi Valley challenge, on Saturday, June 1. Holmen will attempt to better on its 5-5 season record. The Riverhawks enter the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 4-1 league loss to Onalaska (Onalaska, WI).

The Spartans now have a 5-11 record.
