Lincoln Railsplitters (Des Moines, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marshalltown Bobcats (Marshalltown, IA), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Railsplitters now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Southeast Polk for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 1. Lincoln will battle a Rams squad coming off a 6-3 league loss to Northwest (Waukee, IA). The Rams record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Marshalltown falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Grinnell (Grinnell, IA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 30. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Grinnell won 26-0 in their recent league challenge against South Tama County (Tama, IA)
