Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs (Monroe, IA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Perry Bluejays (Perry, IA), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Grand View Christian for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 30.

With the loss, Perry falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Bluejays travel to Saydel (Des Moines, IA) to face the Eagles in a Heart of Iowa challenge on Friday, May 31. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
