Clinton Cougars (Clinton, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Whitewater Whippets (Whitewater, WI), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jefferson for a Rock Valley challenge on Thursday, May 5.

With the loss, Whitewater falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Whippets host Turner (Beloit, WI) to face the Trojans in a Rock Valley challenge on Thursday, May 5. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 10-2. Turner won 10-6 in their recent league challenge against Edgerton (Edgerton, WI)
