The Topsail Pirates softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting South Brunswick Cougars to 0 in the Pirates league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Topsail improves its record to 15-4 on the year. The Pirates travel to Laney (Wilmington, NC) to clash with the Buccaneers in a Mideastern 3A/4A game on Thursday, May 5. The Buccaneers come into the game with a record of 12-8. Laney won 8-5 in their recent league game against Hoggard (Wilmington, NC)

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A game, on Thursday, May 5. South Brunswick will attempt to improve on its 13-6 season record. The Trojans come into the game with a 4-15 record after their 8-2 league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC).
