Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines (Chester, VA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils face the Lancaster Red Devils (Lancaster, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 4. Mathews will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record.

The Wolverines now have a 0-9 record. They take the field next when they host King & Queen Central for a Tidewater challenge on Monday, May 8. Carver College and Career Academy will face a Royal Tigers team coming off a 5-1 league loss to Mathews (Mathews, VA). The Royal Tigers record now stands at 1-6.
