Owensboro Catholic Aces (Owensboro, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Apollo Eagles (Owensboro, KY), 5-3 in a league challenge.

The Aces now own a 12-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greenwood for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. Owensboro Catholic will battle a Gators squad coming off a 8-1 non-league win over Union County (Morganfield, KY). The Gators record now stands at 15-9.

With the loss, Apollo falls to 8-9 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Franklin-Simpson (Franklin, KY) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 5. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 10-16. Franklin-Simpson lost 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Russellville (Russellville, KY)
