Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers (Gardner, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Tri-Point Chargers (Cullom, IL), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they host Illinois Lutheran for a River Valley challenge on Thursday, May 4. Gardner-South Wilmington will face a Chargers squad coming off a 10-7 non-league win over Walther Christian Academy (Melrose Park, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 11-12.

With the loss, Tri-Point falls to 0-15 on the campaign. The Chargers host Donovan (Donovan, IL) to face the Wildcats in a River Valley challenge on Saturday, May 6. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-16. Donovan lost 9-1 in their recent league challenge against Clifton Central (Clifton, IL)
