Metea Valley Mustangs (Aurora, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Waubonsie Valley Warriors (Aurora, IL), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 8-13 record. They take the field next when they host Neuqua Valley for a DuPage Valley challenge on Thursday, May 4. Metea Valley will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 4-0 league win over Naperville Central (Naperville, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Waubonsie Valley falls to 1-18 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Plainfield Central (Plainfield, IL) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-15. Plainfield Central lost 9-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Lincoln-Way West (New Lenox, IL)
