Salina Central Mustangs (Salina, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Arkansas City Bulldogs (Arkansas City, KS), 15-8 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 8-16 record. They take the field next when they travel to Andover for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Salina Central will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 22-11 non-league win over Newton (Newton, KS). The Trojans record now stands at 7-9.

With the loss, Arkansas City falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Winfield (Winfield, KS) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Winfield won 15-10 in their recent non-league challenge against Conway Springs (Conway Springs, KS)
