Lake Region Lakers (Naples, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fryeburg Raiders (Fryeburg, ME), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Lakers now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greely for a Class B South challenge on Monday, May 6. Lake Region will face a Rangers squad coming off a 12-9 non-league win over Edward Little (Auburn, ME). The Rangers record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Fryeburg falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Raiders host Sacopee Valley (Cornish, ME) to face the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Sacopee Valley lost 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against North Yarmouth Academy (Yarmouth, ME)
