The Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers got by the visiting Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds softball squad by a count of 7-6 in Friday's league battle.

The Chargers (10-5) will now prepare for their battle against St. Mary Catholic (Neenah, WI). The Zephyrs go into the non-league battle with a 9-8 record. In their last battle, St. Mary Catholic was edged by Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (Elkhart Lake, WI), 3-1, in a league battle.

The Thunderbirds now sport a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Nekoosa for a non-league battle on Friday, May 3. Iola-Scandinavia will meet a Papermakers squad coming off a 10-6 league win over Westfield Area (Westfield, WI). The Papermakers record now stands at 5-4.
