Parry McCluer Fighting Blues (Buena Vista, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Blues now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Ridgeview Christian for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. Parry McCluer will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 25-6 league loss to Temple Christian (Madison Heights, VA). The Crusaders record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Nelson County falls to 1-14 on the campaign. The Governors travel to Dan River (Ringgold, VA) to battle the Wildcats in a Dogwood challenge on Wednesday, May 8. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 7-7. Dan River won 16-6 in their recent league challenge against Altavista (Altavista, VA)
