Newfound Regional Bears (Bristol, NH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host White Mountains Spartans (Whitefield, NH), 17-3 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gilford for a Division III challenge on Monday, May 6. Newfound Regional will battle a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 8-3 league loss to Monadnock (East Swanzey, NH). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, White Mountains falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Woodsville (Woodsville, NH) to battle the Engineers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Engineers enter the challenge with a record of 8-0. Woodsville won 14-2 in their recent league challenge against Gorham (Gorham, NH)
