New York High School Baseball - Saranac loses to Peru

May 3, 2026: Saranac, NY 12981

Peru Nighthawks (Peru, NY) fans left the game pleased Sunday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the host Saranac Chiefs (Saranac, NY), 8-4 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Peru advances its record to 9-1 on the season. The Nighthawks travel to Northeastern Clinton (Champlain, NY) to battle the Cougars in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I match on Tuesday, May 5. The Cougars come into the match with a record of 7-2. Northeastern Clinton lost 5-1 in their recent league match against Saranac (Saranac, NY)

The Chiefs now have a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tupper Lake for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 5. Saranac will battle a Lumberjacks squad coming off a 11-1 league win over St. Regis Falls (St. Regis Falls, NY). The Lumberjacks record now stands at 8-2.
