Spectators at Thursday's league match between the East Marshall Mustangs (Le Grand, IA) and the visiting Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA), witnessed East Marshall's softball squad tip Grundy Center by a count of 2-0.

The Mustangs now sport a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Vinton-Shellsburg for a non-league match on Friday, May 31. East Marshall will face a Vikings squad coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Solon (Solon, IA). The Vikings record now stands at 2-7.

With the loss, Grundy Center moves to 2-4 on the season. The Spartans travel to Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA) to face the Wolverines in a non-league match on Saturday, June 1. The Wolverines go into the match with a record of 3-2. Dike-New Hartford won 16-6 in their recent non-league match against Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA)
