The Ashland Hornets triumphed over the host Madawaska Owls softball squad by a count of 17-11 in Friday's league challenge.
Next, the Hornets meet the Washburn Beavers (Washburn, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, June 2. Ashland will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
The Owls (1-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Wisdom (St. Agatha, ME). The Pioneers enter the Class D North challenge with a 8-5 record. In their last challenge, Wisdom was routed by Fort Kent (Fort Kent, ME), 14-7, in a non-league challenge.
