Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Madison Bulldogs (Madison, ME), 9-5 in a league game.

With the triumph, Spruce Mountain upgrades its record to 8-6 on the year. The Phoenix travel to Lisbon (Lisbon Falls, ME) to play the Greyhounds in a Class C South game on Saturday, May 31. The Greyhounds enter the game with a record of 9-3. Lisbon won 18-3 in their recent league game against Madison (Madison, ME)

The Bulldogs now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they host Mount Abram for a Class C South game on Monday, June 2. Madison will play a Roadrunners squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Winthrop (Winthrop, ME). The Roadrunners record now stands at 1-13.
