Augusta Christian Lions (Martinez, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Columbia, SC), 14-2 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hammond for a SCISA AAA Region I challenge on Monday, May 9. Augusta Christian will battle a Skyhawks squad coming off a 4-1 league win over Ben Lippen (Columbia, SC). The Skyhawks record now stands at 9-10.

With the loss, Cardinal Newman falls to 3-10 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Florence Christian (Florence, SC) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 5. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-9.
