The Benjamin Russell Wildcats got by the host Stanhope Elmore Mustangs softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Wednesday's non-league battle.
The Wildcats (15-12) will now prepare for their battle against Wetumpka (Wetumpka, AL). The Indians go into the non-league battle with a 37-9 record. In their last battle, Wetumpka nudged Elmore County (Eclectic, AL), 7-5, in a non-league battle.
