Central Panthers (Independence, OR) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Corvallis Spartans (Corvallis, OR), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host Crescent Valley for a 5A Mid-Willamette challenge on Friday, May 6.

With the loss, Corvallis falls to 10-7 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to South Albany (Albany, OR) to face the Redhawks in a 5A Mid-Willamette challenge on Wednesday, May 11. The Redhawks enter the challenge with a record of 5-10.
