The Mankato East Cougars (Mankato, MN) softball nipped the visiting Maple Grove Crimson (Maple Grove, MN), 3-2 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Cougars (6-3) will now prepare for their bout against Owatonna (Owatonna, MN). The Huskies go into the Big 9 bout with a 6-6 record. In their last bout, Owatonna was edged by Mayo (Rochester, MN), 11-4, in a league bout.

The Crimson now possess a 13-3 record. They play next when they host Robbinsdale Armstrong for a Northwest Suburban bout on Thursday, May 5. Maple Grove will confront a Falcons squad coming off a 18-1 non-league win over Washburn (Minneapolis, MN). The Falcons record now stands at 7-5.
