Wakefield Warriors (Arlington, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Washington-Liberty Generals (Arlington, VA), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Langley for a Liberty challenge on Monday, May 9. Wakefield will face a Saxons squad coming off a 8-7 league win over McLean (McLean, VA). The Saxons record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Washington-Liberty falls to 9-5 on the campaign. The Generals travel to Herndon (Herndon, VA) to face the Hornets in a Liberty challenge on Friday, May 6. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 2-11. Herndon lost 7-6 in their recent league challenge against McLean (McLean, VA)
