The crowd at Thursday's league test between the Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC) and the host Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), saw Richlands's soccer squad knock off Croatan by a count of 3-1.

The Wildcats now hold a 12-5 record. They play next when they host Dixon for a Coastal 3A test on Tuesday, May 9. Richlands will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Swansboro (Swansboro, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-1.

With the loss, Croatan drops to 4-14 on the season. The Cougars host West Carteret (Morehead City, NC) to encounter the Patriots in a Coastal 3A match on Monday, May 8. The Patriots come into the match with a record of 13-5. West Carteret won 6-0 in their recent league match against White Oak (Jacksonville, NC)
