In Thursday's league battle, the host Freedom Patriots soccer squad scored a close 5-0 win over the South Caldwell Spartans.
The Patriots (4-10) will now prepare for their battle against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the Northwestern 3A/4A battle with a 11-5 record. In their last battle, Ashe County was overwhelmed by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.
The Spartans (5-12) will now prepare for their battle against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars go into the Northwestern 3A/4A battle with a 11-6 record. In their last battle, Alexander Central was overwhelmed by Watauga (Boone, NC), 3-0, in a league battle.
