Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Virginia High Bearcats (Bristol, VA), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils confront the Lee Generals (Jonesville, VA) in a Mountain 7 challenge, on Friday, May 5. Gate City will attempt to better on its 4-8 season record. The Generals enter the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 8-0 league loss to Central Wise (Norton, VA).

The Bearcats now have a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Graham for a Southwest challenge on Tuesday, May 9. Virginia High will confront a G-Men team coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Galax (Galax, VA). The G-Men record now stands at 11-0.
