The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) and the visiting Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA), saw Halifax County's softball squad achieve victory over Bassett by a count of 16-1.

The Comets now sport a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tunstall for a non-league match on Monday, May 8. Halifax County will face a Trojans squad coming off a 16-1 non-league win over Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Bassett falls to 6-11 on the campaign. The Bengals host George Washington (Danville, VA) to face the Eagles in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 9. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 0-0.
