Fond du Lac Cardinals (Fond du Lac, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Appleton East Patriots (Appleton, WI), 10-5 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oshkosh North for a Fox Valley Association challenge on Tuesday, May 9.

With the loss, Appleton East falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Patriots host Oshkosh North (Oshkosh, WI) to battle the Spartans in a Fox Valley Association challenge on Friday, May 5. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 6-10. Oshkosh North lost 14-7 in their recent league challenge against Kimberly (Kimberly, WI)
