Fairfield Knights (Fairfield, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host York Catholic Fighting Irish (York, PA), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they host Biglerville for a York-Adams 4 challenge on Monday, May 8. Fairfield will battle a Canners squad coming off a 12-10 non-league loss to Susquehannock (Glen Rock, PA). The Canners record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, York Catholic falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Fighting irish travel to York Suburban (York, PA) to battle the Trojans in a York-Adams 4 challenge on Friday, May 5. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 0-8. York Suburban lost 22-3 in their recent league challenge against Susquehannock (Glen Rock, PA)
