Sodus Spartans (Sodus, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gananda Central Blue Panthers (Walworth, NY), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they host Mynderse Academy for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. Sodus will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 12-10 league loss to Palmyra-Macedon (Palmyra, NY). The Blue Devils record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Gananda Central falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Blue panthers host Williamson (Williamson, NY) to battle the Marauders in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Marauders enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Williamson won 17-2 in their recent league challenge against North Rose-Wolcott (Wolcott, NY)
