Utica Chieftains (Utica, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lake Shore Shorians (St. Clair Shores, MI), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Chieftains now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Anchor Bay for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8.

With the loss, Lake Shore falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Shorians travel to Marysville (Marysville, MI) to battle the Vikings in a Macomb Area - White challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
