Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 13-1 record. They take the field next when they host Western Albemarle for a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, May 9. Louisa County will face a Warriors squad coming off a 20-1 league win over Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Orange County falls to 11-4 on the campaign. The Fighting hornets travel to Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA) to face the Flying Flucos in a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Flying Flucos enter the challenge with a record of 3-12.
