The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Mission Valley Vikings (Eskridge, KS) and the host West Franklin Falcons (Pomona, KS), saw Mission Valley's softball squad nip West Franklin by a count of 9-4.

The Vikings now sport a 11-7 record. They take the field next when they host Wabaunsee for a non-league match on Friday, May 5. Mission Valley will face a Chargers squad coming off a 21-4 league loss to Rock Creek (St. George, KS). The Chargers record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, West Franklin falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Falcons host Marais des Cygnes Valley (Melvern, KS) to face the Trojans in a non-league match on Monday, May 8. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 3-12. Marais des Cygnes Valley lost 11-9 in their recent non-league match against Oskaloosa (Oskaloosa, KS)
