In Thursday's league contest, the Powhatan Indians (Powhatan, VA) softball team overwhelmed the host Monacan Chiefs (Richmond, VA), by a margin of 8-3.

With the triumph, Powhatan moves its record to 10-4 on the year. The Indians host James River Midlothian (Midlothian, VA) to play the Rapids in a Dominion contest on Tuesday, May 9. The Rapids come into the contest with a record of 3-11. James River Midlothian won 1-0 in their recent league contest against Huguenot (Richmond, VA)

In their next game, the Chiefs play the Clover Hill Cavaliers (Midlothian, VA) in a Dominion contest, on Tuesday, May 9. Monacan will attempt to move on its 5-10 season record.
